Freedom isn't given. It's built, one decision at a time.
I didn't start with capital, connections, or a plan that looked good on paper. In 2013 I was working long hours for someone else's vision, and the only thing I owned outright was the after-work hours I spent teaching myself how businesses actually work — sales, systems, the numbers no one shows you until you ask.
The first venture failed quietly. The second one didn't. Somewhere in between I stopped chasing a single big win and started building a portfolio: businesses, investments, and a body of writing that turned the lessons into something other people could use before they had to learn them the hard way.
Today that means running and advising a handful of companies, investing in founders earlier than most people are willing to, and writing to an audience of over 500,000 who are building toward the same kind of freedom I was chasing back then — location, time, and the ability to say no.
