How I Started This Blog with ChatGPT Design, Coded by Claude & Hosted on websitehosting.app

Fernando Fernando 5 min read

Welcome to my newest personal blog.

If you’re reading this, you’re looking at the very first post and I want to start not with a grand mission statement, but with a small confession about the site itself. Because the story of how this blog came to exist is, in many ways, the whole point of what I want to write about here.

started-this-new-blog

I got this blog site theme designed with ChatGPT as guided by Kasun Sameera. I had it coded into a custom WordPress theme by Claude AI. And it’s hosted on websitehosting.app the platform my team at SeekaHost Technologies lead by Kasun built for exactly this kind of thing. And Nuwan at ClickDo did teh tweaking to make sure all looks well and mobile friendly as well for some extra polishing.

Ten years ago, that sentence would have sounded like science fiction. Today, it’s just a Tuesday.

The old way of building a website

I’ve been building businesses on the internet for over a decade, doing digital marketing at ClickDo, hosting and technology at SeekaHost, and a dozen ventures in between. So I remember the old way of getting a site online, and it wasn’t pretty.

You’d sketch an idea. You’d hire a designer, wait a week for mockups, and go back and forth on revisions. Then you’d hand it to a developer, wait another two or three weeks, and pay a few thousand pounds for the privilege. Then came hosting headaches, plugin conflicts, and a launch day that always slipped.

For most people with a good idea and no technical background, that friction was enough to kill the dream before it started.

That barrier is gone now. And I wanted my own blog to be living proof of it.

The new way and how I actually did it

Here’s the honest, step-by-step version of how this site went from an idea to a live blog.

1. The design — with ChatGPT. I described the feeling I wanted: a luxury magazine crossed with a personal brand. Gold and dark navy. Playfair Display headlines. Something that felt like Forbes met Apple. ChatGPT turned that description into a full homepage design I could actually see. No week of waiting. No design fees. Just a conversation.

2. The build — with Claude AI. I handed that design to Claude and asked for a proper, hand-coded WordPress theme, no clunky page builders, no bloated plugins. Claude wrote the whole thing: the templates, the hero slider, the dark mode toggle, the reading progress bar, the search. When I hit a bug, the search box wouldn’t close, I described it in plain English and it was fixed in minutes. This is what “coding with AI” actually looks like in practice: you bring the vision and the judgement, and the AI handles the heavy lifting.

3. The hosting — with websitehosting.app. Then it needed a home. I hosted it on websitehosting.app, our managed WordPress and cloud platform. One-click WordPress, fast servers, and it’s simply live. No wrestling with cPanel at midnight, no wondering if the site will hold up when traffic comes.

Design, build, host. A process that used to take a month and cost thousands took a weekend and a handful of conversations.

What this means for you

I’m not sharing this to show off a shiny new blog. I’m sharing it because I genuinely believe this changes what’s possible for ordinary people.

If you’ve ever thought “I’d love to start a blog, a portfolio, a small business site — but I’m not technical,” I want you to hear this clearly: that excuse doesn’t hold anymore.

  • You can design with ChatGPT.
  • You can build with Claude.
  • You can host in minutes with websitehosting.app.
  • Get support from ClickDo team of experts for all the things web design, development and more.

The tools that were locked behind agencies and developers are now sitting in your browser, waiting for you to describe what you want. The bottleneck is no longer skill or money. The bottleneck is simply deciding to start.

That’s the shift I find so exciting and it’s the same shift I’ve spent my career chasing. Digital skills used to mean years of learning to code. Now they mean knowing how to think clearly, describe what you want, and use the right platform to ship it. Anyone can learn that. Anyone can become what I like to call a Nomad CEO, building things that run from anywhere, on their own terms.

What’s coming on this blog

This site is where I’ll document the journey, the business lessons, the digital tools I’m using, the mindset behind building companies you can run from a café in Sofia or a garden gym in London. Some posts will be practical how-tos. Some will be reflections on freedom, fitness, and building a life around your work rather than the other way round.

But this first one had to be about the blog itself, because it’s the clearest proof I could offer that the future I keep talking about is already here.

If it inspired even a flicker of “maybe I could do this too” — good. That flicker is where every business I’ve ever built began.

Now go and start yours.

Want to build your own site the same way? You can host it on websitehosting.app and be live today.
